HARMONIS International and Satori Consulting in an unique and innovative partnership have signed a long term agreement with UNDP for the provision of development management consulting services.

This partnership provides public sector clients with the knowledge and experience of sector experts combined with the knowledge, experience and services of international industry leaders in management consulting services. Together, we have a geographical and on the ground presence that circles the globe, allowing us to easily provide resourcing in any country or region.

Harmonis and Satori have worked together in a number of capacities in providing technical assistance to a number of development institutions ranging from, procurement, financial and change management and programme development expertise to UNDP Burundi, Congo, Liberia and United Nations Dis-armament Programme for Africa (UNREC) to pro-bono expertise to the United Nations Development Programme’s Management Consulting Team (UNDP MCT).

HARMONIS International is currently providing direct assistance to UNDP and BINUB (Integrated United Nations Office in Burundi) under two major Projects:

• The 2006 Emergency Programme Trust Fund (PU / FF), with funds provided by  DFID and the Belgian and Norvegian Governments – Total budget : $ 17 Million
• The 2007 Peace Building Fund (PBF) – Total Budget : $ 35 Million

HARMONIS International’s assistance is being carried through a series of missions that cover, inter alia:

Managerial assistance:

• Review of internal capacities of the UNDP Service Center, identify bottlenecks in procurement processes, and propose corrective measures to accelerate the processes of procurement
• Identify the needs for an effective UN Integrated Service Center (UNISC) based on lessons learned and best practices
• Identify needs for training for the UNISC personnel, and provide ad hoc on the job training to the staff
• Reinforce the internal capacities of UNISC in connection with the UNDP CO and BINUB operations.

Technical assistance:

• Rehabilitation of 14 Military barracks for the Ministry of Defense
• Construction of 17 Courts for the Ministry of Justice
• Construction of 42 primary schools for the Ministry of Education
• Construction of 1,200 housing units for IDPs and war returnees for the Ministry of National Solidarity, Human Rights and Gender
• Rehabilitation of 11 Jails (both physical and in equipment) for the Ministry of Justice
• Procurement of 9 Lots of medical equipment for the Ministry of Health
• Certification of Technical Review Panel recommendations for submission to OLPS / NY and secure UNDP/HQ’s authorization to award contracts.

HARMONIS is assisting Film Aid International in developing their resources mobilization and programme strategy as well as develop partnerships with a number of public and private sector partners.
